Hazard Groups

Physical, Health and Environmental

Each hazard groups includes hazard classes that have specific hazardous properties.

Physical hazards group: based on the physical or chemical properties of the product.

Health hazards group: based on the ability of the product to cause a health effect 

Environmental hazards group: was not adopted in WHMIS 2015 but including information on the WHMIS 2015 is allowed.

Hazard Classification – organizing hazardous products according to their hazards

Sub Categories: There are also sub categories if the hazard class has more than 1 category.
