Product identifier – Name exactly as it appears on the SDS
Signal word – Danger (more serve hazard) or warning (less severe)
Pictograms(s) – one or more pictograms (one for each hazard class)
Hazard statements – Describes nature of the hazard and are based on classification. One hazard statement for each hazard listed. Standardized statement.
I.e. “Causes serious eye irritation” or “May cause cancer” Warns the user about the damage that can be done.
Precautionary statements – standardized phrases that recommends safety measures or precautions. Five categories that include: General, Prevention, Response (first aid, emergency etc), Storage, disposal.
Can have more than one per label I.e. “Store in a well ventilated” area or “Do not use near flame”
Supplier identification – Name, Address and telephone number
